Bye-Bye Double Chin: Two Breakthrough Non-surgical Treatments That Will Amaze!

Double chins are notoriously hard to shed.  Thanks to their inconvenient location, exercising that part of the body is difficult, uncomfortable and at times, ridiculous-looking (bird-like, to be exact).  For some, the neck exercises can be painful due to prior injuries or age-related spinal ailments that restrict movement.  Even people with healthy diets are sometimes genetically prone to storing reserve fat underneath the chin first before storing it in other parts of the body.  For those, no amount of diet or exercise seems to be enough to get rid of that double-chin for good.

Thanks to recent advances in non-surgical fat reduction technology, it’s now possible to shed that double-chin without going under the knife.  We offer two great non-surgical double-chin treatments here at RVC Medical that effectively destroy the fat under the chin without the painful and inconvenient surgery prescribed of the past.

SculpSure by RVC Medical of IssaquahSculpSure

Some people recognize SculpSure as the latest non-invasive fat reduction treatment, but don’t realize that SculpSure is very effective for the chin and neck areas, in addition to other parts of the body.

SculpSure works by using breakthrough Laser technology that permanently destroys up to 24% of targeted fat cells.  The short, 25-minute treatment is painless, and requires no anesthesia or down-time.  Most patients schedule their treatments during lunch and have no problems returning back to work.  Click here to learn all about SculpSure at RVC Medical.

Kybella is the first FDA-approved injectable treatment that is proven to permanently destroy the fat underneath the chin.  Kybella is made from a special acid that targets and eliminates fat cells from underneath the chin.  Kybella is applied through a tiny needle into targeted areas underneath the chin.  Patients typically experience results in 4-6 treatments, with most significant results visible after 6 treatments.  Visit our Kybella treatment page to learn all about Kybella at RVC Medical.

How to Get the Most Out of Your SculpSure Treatment

SculpSure by RVC Medical of IssaquahWe are often asked, “How can I get the most out of my SculpSure treatment?  Are there any diet or exercise tips that will help me after my SculpSure treatment?”

The answer is, there are a number of things you can do to boost your results immediately following treatment.  SculpSure permanently destroys fat cells underneath the skin without any cuts or incisions.  There are a number of ways to help SculpSure flush these cells from your system:

  • Gently massage the treatment area for up to two weeks.
  • Drink lots of water after your treatment to flush out the dead fat cells from your body.  Try to drink at least 2 liters of water each day immediately following your treatment.
  • Try to elevate your heart-rate by engaging in physical activities, like running, hiking, walking, and bike riding.  These activities will help to mobilize the fat cells and assist in the elimination process.
  • Vitamin supplements like dandelion root, and green tea contain diuretic properties that assist in flushing out fluids and toxins from the body.
  • Take Vitamins like Vitamin B and Omega-3 to help metabolize fat cells.
  • Take liver supplements like Milk Thistle, Dandelion Root and Artichoke because the liver is one of the main organs responsible for metabolizing the damaged fat cells
  • Eat a diet high in antioxidants that eliminates free radicals on a cellular level, which is proven to be beneficial in targeting the fat cells that are to be eliminated by the body after SculpSure.

Chances are, you’ve heard of this one before.  BOTOX Cosmetic has been around for quite some time, and for very good reason!  This treatment consists of small, precise injections into targeted areas of the face and neck to reduce the appearance of fold lines and wrinkles.

BOTOX has been proven to be very safe over the years, and works as a muscle relaxer to lessen the appearance of problematic wrinkles.  For more information on BOTOX at RVC Medical, visit our BOTOX page.

Dermal Fillers

This broad category of products covers many types of cosmetic treatments that roll back the effects of aging and improve the appearance of wrinkles and fold lines.  Unlike BOTOX, which relaxes the muscles underneath the skin, fillers add volume to the underlying dermal structure, which makes even the deepest wrinkles disappear right before the eyes.

RVC Medical offers the safe and effective cosmetic fillers Radiesse and Juvederm.  Click here to learn more about the dermal fillers offered at RVC Medical.

The Secret to Staying Healthy: Eat Healthy!

It’s no wonder people consider “diet” to be among the worst four-letter words. The truth is, what you take in for energy has a direct correlation to your overall health. Quality of food is certainly important, but don’t think you can’t eat well on a budget.

In fact, healthy foods are becoming more and more accessible, through the advancements in supply-chain and shipping technologies. Many people now have their groceries delivered to their doorsteps on a regular basis. This includes fresh meats, produce, and all the ingredients that go into making a deliciously healthy home-cooked meal.

Even better is to start your own garden. Although time – and labor – intensive, there is really nothing better for you than freshly cut vegetables. And besides, spending quality time out in the garden with your heart-rate elevated is a great way to burn fat. Although our growing season is somewhat short here in the Pacific Northwest, a bumper-crop of certain vegetables is still quite dependable year after year. For example, in our garden we have had wonderful luck with Peppers, Cucumbers, Potatoes, Squash, Onions, Lettuce, and much more. Tomatoes are notoriously iffy in the Pacific Northwest due to the time for them to vine-ripen. But even still, green tomatoes can be used in a number of excellent recipes. My favorite being Green Tomato Pie, which tastes very similar to Apple Pie, and was sometimes used as a substitute way back when.

Vegetables are a cornerstone of any well-balanced diet, and you probably remember that from your childhood. But they are important for many reasons. Unprocessed vegetables contain loads of anti-oxidants, vitamins, and other nutrients that support good digestive and internal health. Vegetables contain Unsaturated Fats, which are generally healthier than Saturated Fat found in meat.

High-Protein, low-fat meats are a very important element of a well-balanced diet. Saturated Fats found in red meat, chicken and pork, although harmful in large amounts, are essential to maintain proper health. Too much saturated fat can result in high cholesterol and should be avoided.

There are many diet-related recipes out there that can get you on the right track with your diet. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before embarking on any major diet. And don’t put too much faith in those short-term fad diets. Unless you make a long-term change to the food you take in, don’t expect much in return.

When in doubt, schedule an appointment with a qualified health professional like Dr. Van Coevorden. At RVC Medical, we will work with you to develop your long-term health plan to accomplish your personal goals. Call us at 425-557-4227 and schedule your free consultation today!
